Proprietary Integrated Library System - Sirsi Unicorn WorkFlows

Our libraries have
upgraded from the old Erudite integrated library system (ILS) to the Sirsi Unicorn WorkFlows integrated library
system (ILS). The current supplier of our library computer software fortunately had a long term software
maintenance agreement (contract of agreement) in place. It specified that the integrated library system
(ILS) application software upgrades by definition specifically refers to improvements to integrated library
system (ILS), which may be researched, developed and released from time to time by
supplier.
The contract/agreement with our integrated
library system software provider made it possibile to upgrade as we would stay with the current service
provide and they are the 'sole provider' of upgraded software SirsiDynix in Africa.

This integrated library system was tried and
tested and has a large customer base in ±23 000 Libraries in ±70 Countries throughout the world. Another benefit was that this application software was
making use of the Oracle database. Other departments were currently developing / migrating in the same
direction. Council approved the
installation / upgrade to Sirsi Unicorn WorkFlows in 2008.
